This was my home page after my trip of October - November 2003

My wife never worries about me having a mistress because she knows that my mistress is Vietnam, and Vietnam fills me with exquisite joy, and sometimes Vietnam breaks my heart. But then, I guess that is what mistresses do.

My name is Henry Bechtold and I live now, as I have for most of my life, in Beautiful Bucks County, in Southeastern Pennsylvania. Just north of Philadelphia, along the Deleware River. I was in Vietnam from September of 1967 till September of 1968. Stationed at Long Binh, RSVN. Most of my time was with the 572nd trans company but I spent some time with the 10th trans, 534th trans and the 543rd trans which was at the OK Coral in Thu Duc. I returned to Vietnam in 1969, 2001 and now in October/November of 2003.

Here are some of the 720 photos I took in Oct/Nov 2003.

Please sign my guest book and send an email if you wish.

On my last trip I took someone I met through my web site. He wanted to go back but not alone. So I got to be tourist and tour guide. It was a wonderful trip and he said he is glad he went and feels much better for having gone. It is a theraputic trip for veterans.

When you are done here there is a site with a great book. The book is called A long way from Saigon. It is a story about one persons experiences during the war and beyond from a view point that we don't often hear. If you stop by I think you will be pleased.

Phuong Linh
I met Phuong Linh(center), along with many other children, at Ngoc Son Temple which is on an island in the North end of Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi. She is one of the beautiful people I met during my trip to Vietnam in October and November of 2003.
