Mausoleum of Emperor Khai Dinh
During our stay in Hue Miss Alina and her brother took us to see the sights.
First was the Mausoleum of Emperor Kiai Dinh (1885 - 1925). It was built between 1920 and 1931.
Just a note. Khai Dinh adopted Bao Dai who was the last Emporer of Vietnam. |

Entering
Just through the main gate we go up a set of stairs. There are 127 stairs from the enterance to the Mausoleum. |

Stele House
Between the enterance and the Mausoleum is the Stele house. |
||
 |
||
|

Mausoleum
At the top of the hill is the Mausoleum. |

Temple
The Mausoleum has 5 rooms. A guard room on each side and this Temple in the front room |

Tomb
Behind the Temple is the Tomb. Sitting on the tomb is a bronze statue of Khai Dinh which was cast in France. Above him is a decoration which looks light and delicate. It is a canopy which, in reality, weighs over a ton and is made of reinforced concrete and decorated with ceramic and glass. |
